So, I’m on the road. I’m sitting at the bar in a pub in a small town in the middle of nowhere. And I get chatting to a local guy. He asks me where I’m heading, and I tell him the name of an even smaller town in an even more remote spot.
“I hear it’s really nice there”, he says.
“I heard so, too,” I say, “Can you give me directions?”
“Sure. You head out of town that way…” he says, pointing out the window, “and then… No, no, no. You head out of town that way…” he says, pointing out the other window. “No, no, no. Actually, come to think of it, you can’t actually get there from here. But I know somewhere you can get there from, and I can tell you how to get there…”
And I got to thinking of the times in my life when I’ve realised that I can’t actually get where I want to go from where I am, and I’ve had to start by getting up and going somewhere else (usually anywhere else).
Can you get where you want to go from where you are now?
